Ukraine says ready to resume oil transit to EU via Druzhba

KIEV, May 6 (PRIME) -- Ukrtransnafta is ready to resume oil transit to the E.U. via the Druzhba pipeline, as standard-quality oil started arriving from Belarus’ Mozyr linear dispatch station in direction of Ukraine on Monday, the company said.

“At 2:17 p.m., oil with indicators corresponding with the norm started to arrive in the system of Druzhba oil pipelines in direction of Ukraine for its further transportation to E.U. countries,” the company said.

Belarusian state petrochemical holding Belneftekhim said on May 2 that good oil from Russia started coming to Belarus via the Druzhba pipeline on May 2, and the Mozyr oil refinery started receiving the oil on May 4.

The problem with the quality of oil coming from Russia to Europe across Belarus via the Druzhba pipeline appeared in mid-April. As oil contaminated with chlorides moved through the pipes, Poland stopped receiving the black gold from Druzhba on April 24, and Ukraine on April 25.
